On April 25th Neil E. Snyder and Rebecca M. Hodge Snyder were honored to receive the Spirit of Marco Island award along with six other recipients. The Gala Awards dinner was held at Bistro Soleil restaurant and was accompanied by a silent auction. Both Neil and Rebecca of the Law Offices of Hodge and Snyder were being recognized for their considerable efforts in the Meals of Hope organization as well as the Sunrise Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club of Marco Island.
The award had originally come as a surprise to both Neil and Rebecca. Neil was quoted in the Coastal Breeaze saying "...What we do for the community is not for recognition, but just because giving back is the right thing to do. To be recognized is unexpected." Rebecca, who had been in the know that Neil was going to receive the award, was pleasantly taken aback when her name as well had been called out to receive the award. "It's unexpected because there are so many people on Marco that do so much for the community," said Rebecca in the Coastal Breeze. "It was an unexpected and very nice surprise."
Neil and Rebecca continue to work tirelessly with the Meals of Hope Organization to provide meals to families in need throughout Collier County. To date they have helped provide over 800,000 meals. Click here to learn more about Meals of Hope.
